Meet Captain Jason Calhoun

Captain Jason Calhoun is a lifelong Florida resident who grew up surrounded by the waters of the Florida Keys. With more than 20 years of experience on the ocean, his career began on lobster and stone crab boats, where he gained a deep respect for the sea and its resources. That early foundation shaped his passion for fishing and led him to pursue a path as a licensed captain, sharing his knowledge and love for the water with others.

Over the years, Captain Jason has mastered a wide variety of fishing techniques, including trolling, bottom fishing, light tackle, and live bait. His expertise allows him to adapt each trip to the conditions of the day and the preferences of his guests. Whether targeting Mahi Mahi offshore, chasing Tarpon along the flats, or bottom fishing for Snapper and Grouper, he brings patience, skill, and a teacher’s mindset to every outing.

The Boat

Fishing with Captain Jason takes place aboard an 18’ McKee Craft center console, a versatile vessel perfectly suited for the waters of the Keys. Powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine and equipped with modern electronics like GPS and Fishfinder, the boat is designed to reach prime fishing grounds quickly and efficiently. With space for up to three guests, it offers an intimate setting that ensures personalized attention, comfort, and the opportunity to focus fully on the fishing experience.
